                       MMS CRUISE NO. 10
                             R/V SPROUL
                      19 - 26 August 1995

Cruise Goals

This is a mooring ops, drifter release and survey cruise, focused on the
Southern California Bight. Mooring Ops: Turn around ABMI, PAIN, CAMP and
SMIN and SMOF weather permitting. Drifter Releases: At standard stations
within SBC (by UCSB) and along CCOFI line 90. Surveys: CTD at either end
of SBC, ADCP, XBT and Met within the SBC and along portions of CCOFI
lines 83, 87 and 90. 

Dates

Summary:  1500 19 August 1995 - leave San Diego
             1500 26 August 1995 - return San Diego


19 Aug.   Leave Nimitz Marine Facility at 1500 heading for ANMI.

20 Aug.   Arrive at ANMI 0800.  Begin CTD section.  1200: deploy fish.
             Engineering study to trim fish until 1600.  Begin ADCP XBT 
             survey at ANOF.

21 Aug.   Continue ADCP survey until 1800.  Deploy and recover ABMI at 2000.

22 Aug.   Deploy and recover PAIN at 0600.  Deploy and recover CAMP at 
             1200.  Deploy and recover SMIN at 1800.  Begin SMIN - SMOF 
             CTD transect at 2200.

23 Aug.   Deploy and recover SMOF at 0600; deploy fish, steam towards 
             CCOFI line 83 station 60.  Survey until line 83 station 51, 
             then to line 87 station 33.

24 Aug.   Survey out line 87 until station 80 (210 nm).

25 Aug.   Steam to CCOFI line 90 station 80, then survey in line 90 
             to station 28.  Deploy drifters every 5 mi. along line 90.

26 Aug.   Survey towards San Diego along 100 m isobath approximately.  
             Tie-up at 1500 at Scripps Nimitz Marine Facility.
