Alan, Thanks for your generous offer. Much of your planned track from
7S,114.26W will be of interest. I would especially like to take
advantage of the opportunity to collect data in Mexican waters, by asking
for small diversions there. My calculator tells me that direct from
7S ,114.26W to SD Buoy #1 is 2383 n.m.; via the way points requested
below it is 2394 n.m., less than an hour extra.
from 7deg00minS,114d26mW please go to 18d00mN,115d30mW
then 21d00mN,115d15mW
27d00mN,117d04mW
28d00mN,117d06mW
29d30mN,117d24mW
30d30mN,117d21mW,
then on to SD (32d37.3mW,117d14.8mW).
My interest in the data wanes after 30deg30minN, about 127n.m. from SD.
A possible nuisance is that clearance for data collection from Mexico was
apparently requested, and given, only up to midnight 30June, i.e. not for
the day of your scheduled ETA. This would only be a problem (precluding
data collection S of 30.30) if you came in after about 11a.m. on 1 July.
Thanks again, and best of luck on your instrument recoveries,
Peter Lonsdale
