IV.  General Rigging Needs For SIO (New Horizon Cruises)
 
CTD winch   1000 m 0.322 wire for 24-place 10-l CTD/Rosette system + spare slip rings hydro winch  1000 m for bongo net tows and secchi casts portable CTD winch with ëshortí wire for Mitchell bio-optical measurements room on ship for 3 or 4 vans (CalCOFI, Mitchell, Goericke, egg sampling pump) ventilated work space in aft lab ADCP (Chereskin) CalCOFI underway data logging system (continuous uncontaminated sea water to after lab) continuous sea water to cool incubators isotopes will be used by (potentially): CalCOFI, Mitchell, Goericke, Palenik, Zafiriou (when aboard)  MLR will coordinate making sure that each program gets the necessary SIO approval vans (CalCOFI; Mitchell; Goericke; egg sampling pump)
 
Normally CalCOFI will not require a SIO resident technician, although special needs may lead us to request one (e.g., we requested one when we started the multicoring program).
