Comments:  At the precruise meeting 6/24 it was determined that the CalCOFI
group would be offloaded
by the afternoon of the 27th and that more than
enough port time had been allocated between CalCOFI and the NAVO program in
Redwood City. Given this information it
was agreed by all parties concerned that one of the port days should be
converted to a science day for NAVO,
G. Wilkes agreed.
 
Note:  Chavez will depart at 0800 on the 20th if all loading is completed
and he is ready to sail.

CHEMISTRY:
	1 ea. Autoanalyzer system (PO4, Sil, NO2, NO3 ,  82 casts, 20 samples
     per cast)  NOTE THIS IS AN INCREASE FROM OUR NORMAL NUMBER OF STATIONS
MARINE TECH ITEMS:
  3 ea. bucket thermometers (8-26 degrees C.)
  2 ea. sling psychrometers (frames, therms,spares)
ELECTRONICS ITEMS:
  2 ea. in situ fluorometer (1 for use as primary unit S/N 91S, 2nd unit
    for backup.  Both these items are currently in MLRG possession, at sea on
    Sproul until June 23.  If it is acceptable we will simply keep them for the
    July cruise.)
  2 ea. 24 place G.O. pylon, (1 for primary, 1 backup unit)
      (In MLRG possession)
  1 ea. Transmissometer (SN 164 currently in mlrg possession, at sea on
    Sproul.  If acceptable we will keep this for July.)	
  1 ea. Autosal Salinometer.  This unit will be filled and powered up on
    ship, but only used if we need backup for the Portasal.
  1 ea. Seabird 911plus CTD and Deck unit.  This unit is to be used as
    backup for our system, and will be left aboard New Horizon for the NavO
    cruise directly following CalCOFI. 
 
  MLRG will supply:  Pinger and/or altimeter, Portasal Salinometer SN 60-654,
 Wormley water, substandard water, Seabird CTD and spare, Seabird deck unit,
 and spare, Trip box and spare, Pylon, rosette frames and all sampling
 bottles for rosettes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  "As per our agreement with Woody Sutherland and Doug
   Masten we will be using ODF oxygen rig "D", spares kit, and 6 cases of O2
   flasks, already in our possession.  We will provide our own reagents and
   standards."-Ed Renger
   MLRG also has ODF 24-place rosette frame.
 
COMMENTS:  Contact Dennis Long for logistics arrangements for shipping
           equipment back from Redwood City.
LOADING DAYS:  Probable loading dates are 6,7,8 JULY 1998. E. Renger will
               update AA operator as cruise date approaches.
