Subject: cruise plan for Terrill cruise on Sproul, 7/10-19

The following is a tentative cruise plan for our upcoming cruise.  I've
tried to contact the res-techs
to discuss our plans,needs, etc. but haven't been able to reach them yet.  I
will be out of 
town the week of 6/22-26.

tentative cruise plan:  R/V Sproul, dates:  July 10-19.
Chief Scientist:  Eric Terrill, x41085

July 8:		begin loading vessel in afternoon

July 9:		load vessel, mount Niiler's meteorological mast to bow (requires
MARFAC crane)

July 10:  	depart San Diego MARFAC pier early morning (etd 7am), steam to
Coho anchorage

July 11:	arrive Coho anchorage (eta. 8am), deploy DGPS station at Government
Point, testing of buoy system, practice deployments, towing, and recoveries,
check data integrity, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 12:	deploy buoy systems in a.m., obtain data, check telemetry systems,
recover buoys late afternoon spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 13:	deploy buoy systems in a.m., deploy Niiler drifter, coordinate
over-flights with MASS aerial system out of Lompoc (will be weather
dependent, but most likely to occur in afternoon when winds are strongest,
recover buoys late afternoon, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 14:	deploy buoy systems in a.m.,  deploy Niiler drifter, coordinate
over-flights with MASS aerial system out of Lompoc (will be weather
dependent, but most likely to occur in afternoon when winds are strongest),
recover buoys late afternoon, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 15:	deploy buoy system in a.m., deploy Niiler drifter, coordinate
over-flights with MASS aerial system out of Lompoc (will be weather
dependent, but most likely to occur in afternoon when winds are strongest),
recover buoys late afternoon, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 16:	deploy buoy system in a.m., deploy Niiler drifter,  recover buoys
late afternoon, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 17:	deploy buoy system in a.m., deploy Niiler drifter,  recover buoys
late afternoon, spend evening in Coho Anchorage

July 18:	deploy buoy system in a.m., deploy Niiler drifter,  recover buoys
late afternoon, recover DGPS system from Government Point, begin transit to
San Diego

July 19:  	arrive San Diego in evening

July 20:  	offload RV Sproul

á 7/16" wire on trawl winch
á trawl block in A-frame
á air-tuggers (2)
á capstan
á 12' zodiac (or similar) for landing on Coho beach to setup DGPS system on
Government point
