As much as possible, MELVILLE will berth at the University of Hawaii's Marine Center (UHMC) on Sand Island Road. When this is not possible due to congestion at the facility, MELVILLE will seek commercial berthing elsewhere in the port. Norton Lilly International is MELVILLE's commercial ship agent that will handle ship's business such as clearing in/out and other in-port business. If necessary, science parties may contact Norton Lilly regarding their own in-port needs and business. Science parties are financially responsible for any billable services requested from the agent. Shipments, large and small, can usually be received by and stored at UHMC until loading aboard MELVILLE. It is the owner's/sender's responsibility to contact UHMC directly and make arrangements for receipt, storage and subsequent transportation to the ship. Advise Master of MELVILLE (master@rv-melville.ucsd.edu) of any equipment/shipments destined for the ship.
