I am forwarding details of a Sept 19 cruise aboard the R/V Sproul. This is a fairly straightforward cruise, we plan to deploy 1 OBS instrument, and then acoustically survey this unit and 4 other previously deployed on the R/V New Horizon.

We propose to arrive at MarFac and load all equipment the morning of the 19th (~8:30am) and subsequently will plan for a 10:00am departure. We also plan to return to MarFac that evening (likely after dinner).

We're going to use the trawl wire while on station during the deployment phase to test acoustics, which should take no longer than an hour in the water. We'll lower it about ~900 meters. The general deployment location for instruments will be:
32 40'N 117 35'W

Following the trawl wire ops, we will then deploy the lone OBS instrument, then acoustically survey using the hull ducer. All instruments will stay down until an Oct 10 recovery aboard Sproul.
